This is a list of terms that may not fit neatly into any specific topic, but are still significant enough that you may wish to know about them.

DTF

Stands for “Down To Fuck.” It simply means that you’re interested in casual sexual encounters, in most cases. (Of course, it can be used in a variety of other contexts as individuals see fit.)

SSC

Stands for “Safe, Sane and Consensual.” This means that every individual in the Scene is practicing a safe activity, are of sound mind, and each person consents to these activities.

RACK

Stands for “Risk Aware Consensual Kink.” Some consider it to be an evolution of the SSC term, by acknowledging that there are no one-hundred percent safe activities within the realm of BDSM. Instead, activities are considered to be on a spectrum between “safer” and “less safe.” The “Risk-aware” segment of this refers to the acknowledgement by all involved parties of the risk involved; “consensual” is fairly self-explanatory, as is Kink.

PRICK

Stands for “Personal Responsibility Informed Consensual Kink.” Though the precise definitions seem to differ, the general idea is:

  1. All participants must take personal responsibility for their own kink in the scene.
  2. You must participate only if you agree you understand every aspect of what is going to happen in a scene - in other words, you are informed.
  3. If the two conditions above are fulfilled, it is said that you can then form consent. It is sometimes said that PRICK is an evolution of RACK in the same way that RACK is an evolution of SSC.
